6/14/2023 0 Comments Battery spy app![]() ![]() I connected to LeafSpy and there was a lot of red which is something to do with cell pairs being balanced. So the whole process finished at 4:21am and despite having the opportunity of drawing more more power up to 6:00am. ![]() Eventually, after 2 minutes at low power it shut off. It spiked 3 more times, each with a 4 minuted low power gap. It then sat at low power for 4 minutes before spiking back. It shows that the batteries charged at full power for 46 minutes before ramping down over the space of an hour & 5 minutes. Ramping down to about 100W then a few spikes, then off. However, I had monitored the charge using my Owl Energy meter and it followed the same pattern as before. ![]() The car was at 100% when I took it out today. The car was at 67% SOC so I knew that 4 hours was plenty of time to reach 100% and then to have a few hours for balancing. I set the timer (on the car’s Nav system, not via Carwings, that’s a whole new can of worms to try out at a later date) to start a charge at 2:00am then to end at 6:00am. Last night I tried a timed 4 hour charge. Eventually it dropped to zero power and the Rolec charger shut itself off. Then it stayed at 98% for a while drawing almost no power, then bursts of about a kW then back to low power again. In my monitored charge session last week I noticed that the charge current decreased as the SOC reached the high 90’s%. Several online posts have suggested leaving the car plugged in for a couple of hours after charging to 100% in order for the battery management system to ‘balance’ the individual cells. ![]()
